| Purchased at: | Dallas | | Purchased for: | $15 | | Info on this bottle: | Late 70's, tax strip, liter | | Proof Of this Bottle: | 86 | | Nose: | Alcohol burn up front, Toffee, Butter Popcorn, Lots of Grain. Huge nose once the burn subsided. Very promising! | | Taste: | Very Grainy with tons of oak. Light cinnamon spice notes. Not a very inviting flavor. To many earthy tones to muttle through to get to the pleasant flavors. Medium bodied. | | Finish: | Burn short, Medium long finish on the flavor. The grain and oak flavors linger the longest. Lacking in balance. | | Overall: | The nose was very deceiving and just didn't deliver in the flavor. It's a basic enough bourbon, but tastes much older than 7 years. It has to be. Nice deep brown, almost amber color. I'm guessing the glut was in full swing and they had to fill labels with what they had sitting around. I will let this sit and give it another go in a few months. |
